A task is an atomic action to be performed in order to implement a feature.

Tasks are normally generated by Project Managers, who write tasks

To perform a Task it should not be necessary to spend more than two hours work. If you think that a task would need more than two hours work you should think of getting the task to be splitted in two parts.
